MEG’s Private Practice Section 2021 Centennial Conference Recap

As expected, this event provided an outstanding opportunity for us to connect with clients, colleagues, old friends, and brand new ones.

We just got back from PPS 2021 and we are still reeling from the experience. The conference took place from November 10th-13th at the incredible Gaylord Texan Resort near Dallas, Texas.

For this centennial event, MEG was more engaged than ever before.

We made our presence known with our first-ever booth that was on display in the Exhibit Hall for the duration of the event. Here we were a “fun hub” for our clients and friends, and an informative center for private practice owners looking to find out how to improve their business operations.

We had a full team with us this year! This included nearly our entire Marketing division, our CEO and Billing representative, Denise Muncie, our Chief Operating Officer and MEG Academy coach, Nicole Walczak, and our Founder & President, Brian Gallagher!

On Day 2 of the conference, we prepared for Brian’s Breakout Session “Are You Sitting on a Data Gold Mine?” that he co-hosted with Marla Ranieri from BetterHealthcare (formerly BetterPT). Here, the two addressed the topic of stats & metrics, the technology needed to best track them, and how this directly applies to physical therapists in private practice.

We experienced a tremendous turnout for this, so much so that some attendees had to stand in the back! The two presenters received an overflow of positive feedback, no doubt making this a successful partnership.

That night, we hosted a cocktail mixer down by the Riverwalk Cantina. Here we served hors devours, drinks and engaging conversation for our guests. Many stayed late for a chance to connect with Brian and the team!

Brian ended the night with a brief, heartfelt speech for all of our wonderful guests (did I mention the entire resort was decorated for the holiday season?)

On the last full day of the conference we hit the Exhibit Hall bright and early. We were excited to collect the final submissions to our raffle for a major giveaway – an Oculus Quest 2!

Another major highlight of the conference was Brian and Nicole’s 30-min Sponsored Session “Solve Your PT Business Challenges in 30 Minutes.” This was an interactive workshop where the attendees were asked to write their practice challenges on a red sticky note, and what was going well on the green sticky note. We then quickly categorized these onto one of the 4 Keys to Practice Success posters: Environment, Structure, Personnel or Systems of Operation. We then grabbed a few of the challenges and launched into a Q&A-style address of the audience’s problems.

With the steep time restraint, we weren’t able to address everyone’s problems (again, a full house!) but we informed the audience and collected their identities for an upcoming Zoomcast which will take place at the end of November to address the remainder of the concerns with our team of professionals.

After our last official event of the conference, we announced the lucky winner of the Oculus Quest 2 – Daniel Myers of Pro-Active Rehab!

This concluded our time at PPS 2021!

It was so rewarding to not only have the chance to make new friends at this innovative conference where PT’s come together to help PT’s and further the profession, but to connect with our current clients as well, in person!

One practice owner we connected with was the amazing Jennifer Schnieders of Outbound Rehabilitation & Wellness in Missouri. This is what she had to say:

This is why we do what we do – to enable practice owners to live the life that they’ve always envisioned for their careers. We will continue to be a valued resource, partner and coach to help owners fully bridge the gap from a clinician to a CEO with the business and leadership skills to succeed in private practice.

Our MEG Academy training, Billing Solutions, Credentialing Services and now Website Design & Development Services are all here to take off the burden of what you didn’t learn in PT school and put it into the trained hands of MEG – we’ve been doing this since 2006!
